چکیده

DSP-enhanced intensity-modulation direct-detection (IM/DD) systems can support up to 56 Gb/s over 100 km signal transmissions at C-band. To achieve higher data rates and longer transmission distances, we propose data-aided iterative algorithm (DIA) decision-directed DIA (DD-DIA) digitally mitigate signal-signal beating interference (SSBI) without requiring any modifications physical layer structures. utilizes pilot symbols with uniformly spaced insertions relax the modified Gerchberg-Saxton (G-S) algorithms that suffer from local optimum problem. further improve symbol error rate (SER) performance convergence speed, DD-DIA introduces a decision process generate pseudo-pilots. We numerically compare other find recover signals subject large fiber dispersions corresponding which conventional IA Volterra filter (VF) fail, while significantly accelerates speed improves reconstruction compared DIA, it 100-Gb/s PAM4 400-km IM/DD within just 50 iterations. Two orders of magnitude reductions in SER is observed for 100-km SSMFs. Compared IA, proposed techniques have speeds, better global features tolerances model errors. In particular, results larger optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR)/ received power (ROP) improvement, capacities less computational complexity. promising efficiently reconstructing 2-dimensional field systems.

Iterative Detection and Decoding for MIMO Systems with Knowledge-Aided Message Passing Algorithms

In this paper, we consider the problem of iterative detection and decoding (IDD) for multi-antenna systems using low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. The proposed IDD system consists of a soft-input soft-output parallel interference (PIC) cancellation scheme with linear minimum mean-square error (MMSE) receive filters and two novel belief propagation (BP) decoding algorithms. The proposed BP ...

Spatio-Temporal Iterative Source-Channel Decoding Aided Video Transmission

Low-complexity uncompressed video transmission meets the requirements of home networking and quality/delay-sensitive medical applications. Hence it attracted research-attention in recent years. The redundancy inherent in the uncompressed video signals may be exploited by joint source-channel decoding for improving the attainable error resilience. Hence in this treatise we study the application ...

Approximate Bayesian Probabilistic-Data-Association-Aided Iterative Detection for MIMO Systems Using Arbitrary M-ary Modulation

In this paper, the issue of designing an iterative detection and decoding (IDD) aided receiver relying on the lowcomplexity probabilistic data association (PDA) method, is addressed for turbo-coded multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) systems using general M -ary modulations. We demonstrate that the classic candidate-search aided bit-based extrinsic loglikelihood ratio (LLR) calculation method...

An iterative pilot-data-aided estimator for SFBC relay-assisted OFDM-based systems

In this article, we propose and assess an iterative pilot-data-aided channel estimation scheme for space frequency block coding relay-assisted OFDM-based systems. The relay node (RN) employs the equalise-and-forward protocol, and both the base station (BS) and the RN are equipped with antenna arrays, whereas the user terminal (UT) is a single-antenna device. The channel estimation method uses t...

Iterative Decoding and Phase-Noise Compensation for Multichannel Optical Transmission

The problem of phase-noise compensation for correlated phase noise in coded multichannel optical transmission is investigated. To that end, a multichannel phase-noise model is introduced and the maximum a posteriori detector for this model is approximated using two frameworks, namely factor graphs (FGs) and the sum–product algorithm (SPA), as well as a variational Bayesian (VB) inference. The r...
